Big Day.

As summer turns to fall,
My little girl turns into a big Kindergartener.
And she isn't the one adjusting! She comes home singing.
After a long day of Kaija wandering around, lost.
Life just doesn't stop for much, does it?

Little bits.

*I hate poison ivy.  HATE.
*I have been googly-eyed over ZZtop for half of my life.  Fact.
*So weird that I can say that.
*HHC!
*My newest love is trail running.
*As a beginner, I'll listen to what you have to say about it. Please.
*Almost as much fun? Taking my Ol' Hardly on mountain bike trails.
*Trails. Heart.
*The majority of my dearest friends are going through huge life changes right now.
*Some fabulous, some really hard.  My love to all of them.
*My life is very not-changey at the moment. At the *moment*.
*Such is life.
*Although, I have a new really great, close friend.
*You know what happens when you find one of them?
*You don't want to leave the state.  True story.
*If Romney gets elected, I probably won't.
*My Izz goes to kindergarten this year. Sob.
*She's gone from accidentally funny, to actually funny.
*Like when she was going to help me make a salad and I told her that her hands better be clean. She told me, "They are, Mom.  I just washed them. Yesterday." Then she laughed.  And I did, too.
*I also have another kid moving on from elementary school. Sob.
*I'm so thankful for this network I have through church.  They are so heartwarmingly generous when someone needs it. Thank you. (It's a great reminder of how blessed we are to be where we are.)
*I'm bored.  As in, my baby is 2 1/2 years old and I need something more for myself in my life.  Bored.
*I don't think I'll ever be the mom that doesn't get a job when her kids go to school.  (Nothing against that choice- what you do is your business.)  I picture myself going batty from boredom. OR.  Maybe I'd be in killer shape. Hmmmm.
*Anywho.
*You rock.
*And don't forget to share your wisdom about trail running.
*Thanks.

I was wrong about the sunflare.

Remember that time that I told you I didn't like sunflare? And Sharyn was all, "What?" (or something like that) and I was all "." I actually didn't reply.  So that was an empty sentence right there.
Well, that was a really bad time in my life.  Today, I finally saw the light.  Get it? Light, sunflare?
Brutal, I know.  But, if I say "God Bless America" then you will forgive me. So.
God bless America.  It makes up for a lot of things.  I just decided.

That cuteness up there had just graduated from her safety class.
We are all a little safer because of it.  Even just walking around the house.
It's been a quiet, slow summer.  Which I was in the mood for.  Until now.  Now I'm ready for schedules.  We've been doing the obligatory appointments, haircuts, new shoes thing.  (Yes, even Kaija got a haircut.)
We were lucky enough to break up the end of the summer bickering with a visit from this cute little guy.  He is the bouncer/usher/invitation checker for the show him and Izzy put on.
Yes, you had to be on the list.
When I saw the props, I was hooked.  *grin* Oh, yeah.  I see what that umbrella says.
It was a full house.

The show itself? Well.  A quarter of the way through it, I got a phone call from the doc.  I was happy to be discussing Urinary Tract Infections in detail, I'll just say.  I heard a couple people mutter, "Lucky you!" as I ran to grab the phone.

Right when I hung up the phone, they were both taking a deep bow.  So, I couldn't tell you how the umbrella tied in with the dogs.  But, I'm sure it was good.  We'll just go with that.

Other than that,
I love sunflare.  But, then again, who wouldn't?

Accidentally Beautiful.

 This wasn't supposed to be.
But, when I got home- away from the glare of the sun
and onto my computer- I saw what I
accidentally captured.
And I love.
Have you ever accidentally captured something
that is perfectly imperfect?

Greenfield Village

I had planned a long and rambling post to go with all of these pictures
but, the computer took too long to load them
and I even deleted the pictures from the post once (whoops)
then today was weird
and I didn't have internet all day, anyway
(trains are gorgeous)
(this cabin reminded me of my mom, not sure why)
so, needless to say- here I am (once again!)
with a less than interesting one-sided convo
ha! but, either way, you should make it to Greenfield Village
and catch a skit or two
relax and do some people watching
and put the glass-making shop at the top of your list
and admire the beauty of a farm
and think that maybe it would be nice
to have a chicken or two to peck the ground
and think, wistfully, of the CCC
and how nice it is to live in the nowadays
and long to sit on a rocker
and realize your kids are not country kids
when they don't know the difference
between a goat and a sheep
but be sure to take your camera
because then you really see it
and all the beauty in the details
